How do I know if my TV is compatible with the GreenPlay Digital Media Player?
The GreenPlay Digital Media Player comes with two types of cables to ensure your movies and TV programs will play on your TV, regardless if you have an older TV or one of the newest high-definition flat screen models. You can use the included composite A/V cables for standard TV output (these are the familiar red/white/yellow RCA pronged audio and video connections commonly found on DVD players, VCRs, TVs, etc.) If your TV has an HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) connection, you can connect the GreenPlay Digital Media Player with the included HDMI cable (this is the single cable with a multi-pin connection head currently used in nearly all current HDTVs, Blu-ray players, DVD players, and home theater receivers.)

If I have an SD card slot built into my TV, do I still need a GreenPlay Digital Media Player?
In order to view GreenPlay content, your TV’s SD card slot must be able to read secure SD card files and have GreenPlay-compatible firmware (this is software the manufacturer embeds in your TV in order to control it.) Manufacturers are currently adding these hardware and software upgrades to their devices in order to play content in GreenPlay format, so be sure to check the list of products in the GreenPlay Compatibility List for the most up-to-date list of compatible devices. However, if your TV manufacturer has not made these changes yet, simply connect the GreenPlay Digital Media Player via the included composite A/V or HDMI cable, and your TV will be instantly “GreenPlay-compatible”.

You don’t need an Internet connection to watch GreenPlay-formatted movies from the Digital Media Player. The video files and content keys required for playback are stored on the SD card so your device doesn’t have to be connected to the Internet in order to play; your movies and TV programs play directly from the SD card. And since it’s not streaming or downloading, the movies appear onscreen immediately (no delays!).
